Goal Setting

Where do you want to be in 6 weeks/ 6 months/ 1 year, etc. Evaluating these goals together is the first step in creating your personalized training program.

Strength Workouts

Every runner’s program will include strength workouts consisting of body weight exercises, plyometrics, weightlifting as well as balance and stability. These are vital exercises to make you less injury prone and a more powerful runner.

Coach Monitoring and Adjustments

You’re signing up for more then just a workout plan. One-on-one feedback with your coach including phone calls, emails and in-app communication. Programs can also be adjusted as things change in your day to day routine.

Courtney has been a Coach for over 12 years and is a Certified Strength and Conditioning Specialist with NSCA. Working together you will receive tried and tested formulas to help you succeed. Train smarter, not harder.

What is Running and Strength Coaching?

One-on-one coaching for your running goals, from anywhere in the world. Learn how to train for a race, improve your speed or try a new distance. Keep your body strong and improve your power with strength training. I will create a personalized monthly program that will fit with your schedule, adjust workouts as needed and monitor your progress. What ever running adventures you set your mind to, we can work together to make them happen.

Why Should I Hire a Running Coach?

Are you looking to improve your running performance and make the most of your training time? If you’re a beginner I’ll teach you how to be consistant, if you’re intermediate we will work on specific drills, if you’re advanced we will dive deeper into how to get more out of your workouts and unlock your potential. That’s only the beginning.

Coaching gives you accountability and motivation. If you’re tried to follow your own exercise program and can’t seem to stick with it, it’s time to work directly with an experienced coach to keep you on track.

How does it work?

Running and Strength Coaching is about building a relationship between you and your coach. Check out the initial steps.

1. Initial Phone Call

Schedule a call with your coach to get to know each other. Talk about your goals and see if working together will be beneficial to you.

2. History overview

This is your chance to share a more detailed history of your running experience. It could range from zero to multiple ultras and everything in between. This will help with developing your monthly workout plan moving forwards.

3. App setup

Your training program and future communication with Courtney will be within the Final Surge App. This enables you to get all the information you need via your phone. You can even sync your GPS accounts to the app!

4. Monthly Workout Program

You can view your personalized running and strength program via the Final Surge app. Look at past history, future workouts and even see your strength workouts all in one place.

5. One-on-one coaching

Continue to communicate with your coach. Plan for future races or events, make changes to your schedule and be held accountable. Turn those goals and ideas into actions!

Talk with me about your running plans and I can advise you on your current goals or design a one time personalized plan (4 weeks in length). This plan does not include strength training workouts, access to the coaching app, continuous communication and check ins.

About your Coach

Courtney Drewsen is a lifelong athlete who loves an adventure.  Coaching has been her passion since college where she earned her Exercise Science Degree. Combining her knowledge of running along with strength and conditioning she believes that every athlete should be given access to the tools that the pros use. 

When she’s not coaching she can be found on the trails in the mountains, hanging out with her husband and kids or scheming up a new adventure to take with her friends.
